Testimonial MPR
"Smoothly and quickly"
Dr Tos Berendschot, researcher at the Department of Ophthalmology at MUMC+
"The macula is created through proper nutrition. We are currently researching the possibility of feeding chickens a diet that would increase the amount of Lutein and Zeaxantine in their yolks. This might be a great way to prevent age related macular degeneration. I designed this device with the help of my colleagues in Utrecht to measure the effects of these interventions.
In Maastricht I started looking for a company capable of making seven more MPRs for research colleagues. Maastricht Instruments was the ideal partner. It turned into a coproduction. I adapted the software partly because the prototype ran on Windows XP and now runs on Windows 7. MI provided the hardware based on drawings they made in a CAD programme.
The fact that they were physically close was also nice. We even managed to improve the device further. I am very pleased with the collaboration; it all went very smoothly and quickly."
